ActiveSync 4.2 TroubleshooterThis is a featured page

A new addition in ActiveSync 4.2 is a built-in troubleshooting utility. This utility will scan your computer for common problems and attempt to automatically fix them. If the utility cannot fix the problem, it will give you information on how to resolve the issue yourself.

How to find and use the ActiveSync Troubleshooter

  1. Connect your device to the computer and wait for ActiveSync to open.
    • If ActiveSync does not automatically open, manually open the program by clicking on the green icon in your system tray or from the Start Menu.
  2. In ActiveSync on the computer, select Help > ActiveSync Troubleshooter.
  3. After the Troubleshooter opens, click Next to start the Troubleshooter.
  4. Click Start Scan to search for problems.
  5. When the scan is complete, click Next.
  6. This screen should provide you with information regarding any issues encountered and where to go to resolve them.

I had Outlook 2003 and took advantage of the 2007 trial, what a mistake. I can get my phone to sync but only for videos and pictures it still doesn't see my contacts. I'm still trying whenever I have time I'll keep you posted.

I "upgraded" from Office 2000 to 2007, and immediately could no longer sync Outlook. the Troubleshooter told me that I needed to have Outlook 2000 or later installed. Stupid thing doesn't recognize 2007.
