Creating an ActiveSync PartnershipThis is a featured page

After installing ActiveSync 4.1, follow these steps to create a new partnership:

  1. Connect the device to the computer. ActiveSync does not have to be open. When connected, the computer should detect the device and the Found New Hardware box should recognize it as a Generic RNDIS and Windows Mobile-Based Device. It will then indicate that the new hardware is installed and ready to use.
  2. Once the device has been detected, the Synchronization Setup Wizard will run.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select the information to synchronize by checking the box next to each item.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Finish to close the wizard. The wizard will indicate that it is saving the settings before closing.
  7. After the wizard has closed, ActiveSync will start the synchronization process with the device. It will also display the sync progress of each category in the status column.
  8. When the synchronization is complete, ActiveSync will display Connected and Synchronized.

At this point, all of the information listed under the Information Type column should be synchronized between the device and Outlook. You can check this by browsing to the appropriate area on the device or computer.

Have you created a partnership using ActiveSync? Post a comment or review.

117gemini ATT 8525 and activesync issues 4 Sep 14 2009, 11:48 AM EDT by Dr.Jello

I'm no longer able to sync my 8525. Recently had to replace the 8525 (again) due to mechanical problems. I was able to establish a partnership the 1st time I connect - downloaded contacts fine. The next time I tried to sync to reinstall programs and got an error message that "synchronization cannot be complete successfully. Reconnect device an try again....." which I have done many times. I have also tried reinstalling activesyn (both 4.2 and 4.5), enable advanced network functionality on the 8525, deleting old partnerships, soft resest, reboot PC, and I have run activesync troubleshooter - no problems found. My PC is windowsXP and I have outlook 2002. Nothing has changed except for the 8525 (the old one had the ROM upgrade as well) Any other ideas?
TIA

boireaul How to synchronize HTC Kaiser with another mail than Outlook? 2 Jan 14 2009, 10:15 AM EST by boireaul

Still looking for a way to use another mail/contact than Outlook which is the only one supported but not with any licence provided.
Outlook Express synch would be the easiest way.
Even no way found to import a contact .CSV file from the contact phone function ...
VCF contact can be send via Bluetooth ... but only one once, i have close to 800 !
Don't you feel crazy to have to buy an expensive Microsoft sotware licence to use your phone product ?
