Droid Eris USB problem solved with Vista 64This is a featured page

What I did to fix:
got the Vista_x64 bit drivers from HTC support (long story)

I don't know how to attach the bit driver folder here for you-I guess ask HTC

Extracted files to temp folder—appeared as folder : Vista_x64 with files

Copied updated Vista_x64 folder and overwrote the one found in:
C:\Program Files (86)\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64

Created folders and then copied Vista_x64 to:
C:\Program Files\ HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64

Copied androidusb.sys from the new Vista_x64 folder and overwrote the one found in:
C:\Windows\System 32\drivers

Opened DOS and went to c:\Program Files\ HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64>g: G:\> This brought up “insert disk” prompt. Mounted USB and then able to open folders Able to Sync with Outlook and copy files

I'm not sure which one of the things I did made it work, but it works now! I can't believe that HTC doesn't have this available on their support site.
