FreeOTFE4PDA Encryption SoftwareThis is a featured page

FreeOTFE4PDA As PDAs are so easy to lose or to steal it is vitally important to protect sensitive mobile data. With FreeOTFE4PDA, data is protected and transparently encrypted using industry standard AES 256-bit encryption algorithm, or any one of numerous other encryption algorithms.

What is FreeOTFE4PDA:
FreeOTFE4PDA is a Windows Mobile for data encryption.
It creates a virtual encrypted volume that looks and feels like a usual Windows Mobile card. When you write data to this encrypted card, it is automatically encrypted, when you read it - it is automatically decrypted.
FreeOTFE4PDA provides "on-the-go" data protection - it will automatically unmount the secure volume if the device goes into sleep mode or the user becomes inactive.

Even if you loose your device, you can be sure that no data will get into wrong hands - as it is protected with AES 256-bit encryption.

Steps to secure your mobile data:

1. Download and install FreeOTFE4PDA from http://www.FreeOTFE.org/download.html (Select either Windows executable or direct device installation cab).
2. Install it on your Windows Mobile phone.
3. Tap "Menu | File | New..." and follow through each of the simple steps to create your first virtual encrypted storage card on your handheld.
4. Your new secure storage looks and feels like another Windows Mobile storage card, only that the data you write there is transparently encrypted.
5. Once you have written all files to this secure location, unmount the storage.
6. Now you can be sure no data will get into the wrong hands - even if your device is lost or stolen.

Note:

FreeOTFE4PDA is a more secure and more convenient and reliable alternative to Windows Mobile media card encryption. It ensures users will get access to the encrypted files even if the device is hard-reset. With its encryption key backup feature users will be able to get legitimate access to the secure storage cards even after Pocket PC device malfunction and partial data corruption.
