HTC Smartphone Guides

HTC produces a wide range of smartphones, and for its own purposes gives each device a "codename." When a distributor or phone network wants to sell one of HTC's devices, it rebrands the phone to its own specifications, sometimes changing the color, the design on the case, and parts of the software. The smartphone also receives a new name. Because of the rebranding process, there are many phones with different names that are actually the same device. Below, each device is listed with its HTC codename first, followed by a list of names of the device's various branded models.

BeanoFTW SMS Timestamp wrong since January 1, 2010 on all Windows Mobile phones (page: 1 2 3 4) 69 Nov 22 2010, 3:20 AM EST by daniel9ds
Thread started: Jan 1 2010, 7:13 PM EST  Watch
I started this thread on the Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 section, but I thought I should start one here so everyone is aware.

Since the year 2010 started, all of my SMS messages have been timestamped accurately except for the year. All messages I have received on the TouchFlo 3D interface as well as the windows SMS inbox have been timestamped that I received text messages (1/1/16). I will update the message tomorrow in case it's a glitch only on the first of January.

I contacted HTC Support and let a rep know about the issue. He told me some good information. All Windows Mobile smartphones that are on CMDA carriers (Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, etc... ) have this issue. It's a problem that is with Windows Mobile OS and the fix will have to come from Microsoft.

To those that are having this issue, it sounds like we will be waiting for Microsoft to release a fix for this.

Happy new years everyone!

As soon as I start a call the screen goes black and am unable to use keypad (obviously) on my HTC Touch Viva. HTC support had me update the ROM and it didn't help. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

EricHill How to View PowerPoint on Blackberry Playbook? 0 Jul 1 2011, 12:08 AM EDT by EricHill
Thread started: Jul 1 2011, 12:08 AM EDT  Watch
2011 may not be "the year of iPad 2" as Steve Jobs said himself, but it will surely be the year of tablet.
RIM has released its own Blackberry tablet Playbook. Since RIM's assembly partners were also committed to supplying touch screen panels to Apple for its iPad 2, they didn't have enough supplies to meet its demand, due to the affect of the Japan earthquake on March 11.
Blackberry Playbook features 1Ghz Dual Core processor, 1GB RAM, 1080p HD video playback and HDMI output. These parameters mean that Blackberry Playbook will be an excellent multimedia entertainment device.
However, the PowerPoint cannot be played directly on the Playbook. I recommend this PPT to Blackberry Playbook Converter to help you to view PowerPoint on Blackberry Playbook after converting PPT to Blackberry Playbook friendly video format such as H.264, MPEG4, WMV.
First, Free Download Moyea PPT to Video Converter, install and run it. And then follow the steps below:
Step 1:
Click "Add" on the main panel to import source files.
Step 2:
You can select Playbook-friendly format (H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV) from the categorized output formats list in "Profile" drop-down list and specify the output path to save your converted files.
For more suitable parameters for Playbook, you can click the "Settings" button next to the format field to open the Settings window and set video resolution, frame rate, bit rate, video codec, etc.
Step 3:
In the main panel, click the "Customize" button to customize the output video. There are five tabs - Timing, Music, Audio, Slide and Conversion for customization.
Step 4:
The last step will be conversion. Click "Start" button, and all the tasks will be done.
After a few minutes, you will get the converted video files which are compatible with Blackberry Playbook.
