Questions
  • Is the HTC Mogul discontinued after a 6 month run? Rumor has it some of the bugs in the mogul are unfixable via firmware and the unit is to be discontinued.
  • Is HTC working on a fix for the Bluetooth issues on the Sprint Mogul? This phone has been out for 3 months - still no fix mentioned on their site - I guess they don't care!
Answer: There is a new firmware that reduces how choppy your voice is to the other party - but it randomly shuts off the BT!
  • It is widely rumored that this phone has a GPS chip that has been disabled. Will there be a hack or workaround to enable GPS capabilities?
Answer: Not likely, it is AGPS which requires a connected call to get data location.
Alternative Answer: The chip on-board is reported to support multi-mode GPS [satellites only, towers only, or hybrid, essentially]. The question boils down to which features the vendors will disable in ROM. With the XV6700, for example, Verizon completely disabled all on-board GPS except E911.
Answer: The Sprint version comes standard with WM6. Other carrier adoption of WM6 is at the sole descretion of the carrier. Since the Sprint version was offered with WM6, HTC supports it. However if you call HTC tech support they will tell you that they only fully support WM5
Answer: Available now for Telus P4000
  • Is there a theme-creating application that is compatible with this phone?
  • What is the largest capacity microSD card that can be used? 2GB? 4GB?
Answer: 4GB
  • When will this phone be available to US customers?
Answer: This phone is currently available in the US to customers of Sprint. They can obtain this handset via Telesales, Retentions and via Sprints website.

Anonymous Connect to different ISP via dialup? 2 Feb 19 2011, 10:02 PM EST by Belroth

Thread started: Apr 27 2008, 7:55 PM EDT  Watch
Hello

I tried to get my Sprint Mogul connected to an ISP. I always thought that is analog with 56k. I used the "Internet Sharing" program on the mogul with the following parameters:
PC Connection:USB
Network Connection name: Test
Select a modem: Cellular Line
Number to dial: 13604692000
Username: guest
Password: password

But somehow my phone stops the connection all the time. Can you help me out and tell me how to connect the sprint mogul to a dial up internet connection (not using the sprint internet connection).

Thank you in advance for your help.

Degards My Wi-Fi connection doesn't work 1 Mar 6 2010, 10:08 PM EST by Degards

I did buy a HTC PPC6800 in December 2008. I am a customer of Bell Mobility. In December 2009 I did get my phone because I was not able to pick up Wi-Fi networks, it came back and everything FUNCTIONS well. In February 2010, the same problem occurred. When I activate the button to capture the wi-fi networks, the icon appears on my screen but I am not able to receive signals. I did a soft reset and a hard-reset and still have the same problem. What can I do with this because Bell Mobility does not want to repair my phone under warranty? Is there a way to reduce everything to zero and start my phone as if everything came from the factory. Someone have the same problem and what i need do to ?
