A new Lock screen alerts you to communications and appointments even when your phone is locked. Quickly return a call, read an email, dismiss or snooze an alarm, listen to a voice mail, or reply to a text message simply by tapping the icon.


Today screen
You can view high-level information at a glance, such as e-mail, text messages, missed calls, and voice mail. Standard plug-ins are also included, such as Clock, Calendar, Favorites, Getting Started, Music, and Photos.


Start screen
A new touch-friendly Start screen provides style, simplicity, and quick access to the most commonly used programs. You can also add your own favorites or programs to the Start screen.


Touch gestures
Touch gestures such as tap, pan, and brush help you easily control and navigate your phone.

Web navigation
Windows Internet Explorer Mobile supports both full browsing and mobile-optimized sites. You can double-tap to zoom in anywhere on a page and use a miniature document map to stay oriented on large pages.

Web controls
Web controls help you quickly perform common actions. The Soft Key Bar provides one-touch access to common web commands such as Back, Home, and Add a Favorite. The Address Bar saves you typing by providing suggestions from your favorites and history. You can also add your most frequently used favorites right to the Today screen on your phone.

Typing shortcuts
Use typing shortcuts to perform common actions quickly, such as using T to move to the top of a page and B to move to the bottom.

Microsoft My Phone Service
The Microsoft My Phone Service lets you backup and sync information between your mobile phone and the web, allowing you to confidently store and manage your information on the web. You can also use it to share pictures, videos, and other files with friends and family across PCs, phones, and the Web.
