Multimedia Tips and Tricks

The T-Mobile Dash™ features Windows Media Player to enrich your multimedia experience. After following several easy steps, you can take your favorite music and video clips wherever you go. The following are some useful tips to help you get started:

Windows Media Player Tips

Transfer music and videos to your device
  1. To transfer files between your device and PC, you must first connect your device via USB and then open ActiveSync. Once your device is recognized by your PC, the ActiveSync window will indicate “Connected.”
  2. Press “Explore” and your device’s My Documents folder window will pop up. You can drag and drop your media files from your PC to this folder and subfolders. If you would like to transfer media to your miniSD card, double click the “My Windows Mobile-Based Device” icon and access the Storage Card folder.
  3. If you would like to move a file on your device to a different folder, Navigate to Start > “File Explorer.” Select the media file you would like to move and press Menu > Edit > “Cut.” Navigate to the desired destination folder and press Menu > Edit > “Paste.” The media file will now be located in the new destination folder.

*It is recommended that you store your music in the My Documents folder and your videos in the My Videos folder.

  2. Your media library should be displayed. If not, navigate to the library by pressing Menu > “Library…” In the media library, the following categories will be available:Windows Media - htcwiki Windows Media - htcwiki
  3. To update your library with all the currently available media on your device, press Menu > “Update Library…” Upon completion, WM will indicate the total number of media files on your device and storage card. CJL2 Napster Files 0 Feb 28 2011, 3:46 PM EST by CJL2

I transferred some Napster files to my HTC Dash but they won't play. I get a popup that links me to the napster website where I can download an exe in order to enable. I downloaded it to my memory card, shut the phone down, restarted, and then clicked on the Napster setup icon and a popup states "Access Denied. The program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate." Is there another way to play the napster music files?
