HTC Sync is available for all North American HTC phones that are sold by HTC's carrier partners in North America. You can find it on the HTC Forum. The correct version for each model of phone is listed under that phone on the Forum.
Go to www.htc.com - click on "Community" and join the "YOU Club". That gives you access to the Forum. Navigate to the thread for the Desire and click on "download" . That will give you access to HTC Sync.

It seems the HTC Sync is only available outside North America. Does anyone have a simple way of syncrhonizing in particular the calendar and contacts on the HTC Desire with Outlook (I have Windows 7)?
