Solution for the Storage Card Encryption Problem
Sprite Backup supports WM6 Storage Card encryption. If you are using WM6 Storage Card encryption the only way to access your encrypted data after hard reset is by using Sprite Backup. Sprite Backup Version 6.1 can backup your device and the entire contents of your Storage Card even when you have WM6 Storage Card encryption enabled. This means that if you create a backup image including the contents of your card you will be able to access all your data. Use Sprite Backup Full 6.1 to:
1. Create a backup image including Storage Card contents to your PC. 2. Make sure that you use Sprite Backup encryption to password protect your backup file. 3. If your devices suffers a hard reset you can simply restore this file and access the encrypted data. 4. You may have to use file explorer to delete the encrypted files on your Storage Card before performing the restore. 5. You can also Drag and Drop your files from your backup to your Storage Card using Sprite Explorer .
HTC users can also purchase the upgrade for only $10…. http://www.spritesoftware.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=203

Don't turn on SD Card encryption!
"If you are backing up to your SD Card, make sure encryption is turned off. I made the mistake of encrypting my SD Card and when I had to reflash the ROM on my AT&T Tilt phone guess what? The backup on my SD Card was worthless as the file was inaccessable and couldn't be decrypted. Backing up to an SD Card is a great feature, I just wished the Sprite Back Up program had warned me about this issue about never being able to successfully restore if something had happened to my phone or it's ROM." The Encryptiomnisnt a feature of Sprite but of the Windows Mobile Operating system so Sprite wouldnt "know" to tell you that it was on. There is a bunch of info on Storage Card Encryption out there that might interest you, just do a Google search and you'll find it.

TIlt2 storage card data encryption protect phone lost stolen
"I've read a few things about protecting my microSD card in case its lost/stolen; there is important info in there that I cannot let anyone see...
If I do encrypt the sdcard does it effect the activesync at all?
Do I need to logon with a password everytime?
What is the best setup to ensure that if i lose my phone that no one will be able to access data on microSD card nor get into device to see personal emails, etc...
I know nothing is 100% but I worry about it being lost... and then all personal data is at someone's hands... not good!
THKS FOR YOUR HELP!!! " Be VERY CAREFUL about encrypting the data on your storage card !!! If you use your storage card as a data backup (like most smart users do) if you encrypt the data and then have a crash on your phone that requires a hard reset to recover from, you will not be able to reload the encrypted data from your storage card. The refreshed operating system (ROM) that is loaded when you do a hard reset looks like a different phone to the OS and it "thinks" you transferred the storage card to a different phone and are trying to pirate the data. This issue is documented, but not many people know the downside.
If you want to protect selected data, you are much better off using an encryption program that allows selective encryption of sensitive data only. I use Spb Wallet. It allows you to store credit card numbers, SSNs, bank account data ... all the info that you wouldn't want someone to have access to if they had possession of your device. Having the phone set up to auto lock will protect your data somewhat, but that lock can usually be overcome by a hard reset. It's also a pain to have to unlock the phone every time you want to access it.
Search the Wiki for "encrypted data" you can find real horror stories of user that have encrypted their storage cards and lost access to the data after a hard reset.

DASH storage card
"It Shows Storage Card:968.25 Used:548.52 Free:419.73" OK, so perhaps the device is only seeing these cards as a 512MB... Try reformatting the card using your PC. Move all files from the card to your desktop first, reformat the card, then move all the files back to the card and see if that helps. If you have Storage Card Encryption enabled, disable it beofre you move the files from the card just to be sure you dont have an issue with them after the card is reformatted.

inaccessible sd card
"Hi,
The SD card in my HTC Touch is inaccessible. I can see it, but cannot add or delete file (also not using PC). Tried a soft reset. Option is a hard reset, but I have data on the card which I do not want to lose. I heard about a program which can be installed. Any ideas?
Thank you " What happens when you try to add or remove files from the SD Card via the device? or via a PC? What is the brand and size of the card? If you Hard Reset the device, the SD Card is left alone (no data is erased). If you have Storage Card Encryption enabled via your device fro your SD Card, be sure to disable that feature before you Hard Reset otherwise, you will not be able to access the data on the card after the Hard Reset.

open photo
"plz i maed haed rest in my htc daimond2 there was photos in storgecard i canot open it jpg " If you had the Storage Card Encryption enabled on your device and then Hard Reset the device without Disabling it (to un-encrypt the files), you are out of luck. The encryption key is deleted in the Hard Reset Process and cannot be recovered (it wouldnt be much of a security feature if this werent the case).

Window Mobile 6 Question
Yes, that is exactly what it looks like. I actually found the icon in the online manual. It said it meant that the storage card was encrypted so the contents of the card could not be used on another phone.

How to download email by Wi-fi instead of GPRS
I sent an email inquiry to HTC and they replied me. It solved the problem for me.
"With regards to your query, please be advised to go from settings->(all)settings first, then select connections tab->connections->advanced->select network->select 'my work netowrk' or 'My ISP'->ok
If still no avail, please kindly be advised to backup all the personal data you have on your device though synchronisation or backup tool and perform a hard reset to re-install the whole system for your phone.
After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings-the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile software and other pre-installed programs will remain
Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Make sure that any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before you perform a hard reset.
Important If Encrypt files when placed on a storage card is enabled, backup all files from the storage card before using Clear Storage, hard reset, or updating the ROM system software. Otherwise you will no longer be able to access the encrypted files on the storage card. Use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center to transfer files between your storage card and computer. After the procedure, copy your files back to the storage card.
To perform hard reset, 1. On the Home screen, go to Start->Settings->System tab. 2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage. 3. Enter "1234" and then tap Yes.
If you try the hard reset but still no avail, we would suggest that you may send your phone to our service center for further assistance."
Hope this help you guys too :)
