With the growing number of Android handsets, there has also been an increased interest by third party developers to port their applications to the Android operating system. Notable applications that have been converted to the Android operating system include Shazam, Doodle Jump, and WeatherBug.
The Android operating system has grown significantly, and a lot of the most popular internet sites and services have created native applications. These include MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter. HTC will not SYNC
I have installed the SYNC program on my PC also, and have my phone connected to my computer with the USB cord and the program will not sychronize. It says disconnected. I can not figure out how to get it to connect.

Touch Pro2 or Evo
I'm looking to upgrade my phone. I was looking at getting the TP2 but I also like what the Evo has to offer. My main question is can the Evo do everything that the TP2 can do? Which phone should I get? Thanks!

HTC Eris not Syncing with PC
I have installed Sync version 2.0.18 on my PC running Windows 7 and Oulook 2007. I connect my Eris to the PC with the USB cable, and nothing happens. When I open up HTC Sync on the PC, it says it is disconnected. When I run HTC Sync from the phone, it cannot connect to the PC. However, I can mount the phone as a USB drive. Help, please?

question regarding widgets
sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere in the forum. i'm new to htc smartphones and a friend of mine has a htc magic. she asked me if i could help her get the music player widget off the home screen and i tried and tried to figure it out but couldnt. any tips or suggestions on moving that widget off that main screen?

I really would like to have a weekly view with the calendar that comes with the HTC Droid Eris through Verizon in the United States. I am quite baffled why there is no option to view the calendar in week mode. Month provides too little detail, and day is too narrow to have much use for me.
I first thought that this was an issue of Android 1.5 vs 2.x, but since have learned that this is really a HTC software design issue (if I'm wrong with this, please someone correct me).
I am sincerely hoping that the next update of the Sense UI that will come with Android 2.x will rectify this rather big omission. Again,if there's any information on this, I'd be grateful for it. If I decide to return the Eris during my 30 day trial, this will be one of the major reasons.

HTC Eris
I have installed Sync software and it will sync with outlook the first time but after the first time Outlook is no longer an option only Windows calendar. Anyone have tricks for making this work consistently, if I delete the software and reinstall it will sync once but as soon as I unplug and resync it gives me an error of outlook not responding. Help

Hotmail on Android Email app
I added my @live.com account to the email app on my new Android phone. The problem is that the mail on my inbox online and on the phone are not syncing. Messages I open on the phone, do not show as read on the inbox on the browser, and vice versa.
How can I solve this?

some andoird update suggestions
i love my android eris. by far it is the most fun i've ever had with a phone and i would suggest anyone looking for a new phone to get one.
I got the newest update a few days ago but i have a few suggestions for htc to consider....
1) I wish there was an option to have the trackball stay illuminated when missing a text,call, etc.
2) I like the addition of the character counting system when sending text messages but it is located in the text box so when i type words it covers part of my message! all they need to do it move it ABOVE the text box
3) A new option to adjust the vibrate strength, the vibrate pattern, ect. would be nice too

Lost Browser Home Page
For some unknown reason, my browser has lost its connection to Google Search! The Browser page opens totally blank! I can usually re-initialize by powering down then back-up again but this is a pain. Does anyone have a better idea? Or is there an upgrade I am missing?

Rogers Dream still stuck at 1.5
If you are from Canada and are looking to purchase an Android based smart phone from Rogers, you must beware. The phones are running the old outdated version of Android 1.5. Even though HTC has provided an update for the Dream to Android 1.6 it is not compatible with our hardware. It is up to Rogers to work with HTC to get version 1.6 capable of running on our hardware.
Rogers has not been forthcoming with any information on when/if we will ever sell the update for our phones in Canada, all the while they are continuing to see phones with the outdated 1.5 software. You can follow the discussions on this subject at.

HTC SYNC 2.0.8 does not work
The sync does not sync. It duplicates. Then it stops syncing. I change contacts on the phone and they do not appear in outlook and vice versa.
The word "SYNC" means just that SYNC. HTC has to learn how to do it.
Erase your stupid program and rewrite it.

HTC Touch Pro QWERTY keyboard problems.
I have had my HTC Touch Pro for abt 3 weeks now. The QWERTY keyboard does not always work? I can get it to work, but it should not be this way? There seems to be A LOT of the same problems from people all over the world, the QWERTY keyboard either fails all together, or works sporadically?
I have talked to a HTC tech about my problem, he will not confirm or deny there is a problem with the Touch Pro QWERTY keyboard?
But to send it in and they can fix the problem?
I have a RMA and address to send it in, before the warranty expires, but I wanted to try this HTC site to see if anyone else has the same problem, and found a fix, without sending the unit in??????
Hard and soft reset does not work?
When sliding out the keyboard, and it is unresponsive, but the screen is on, pushing the power button off then on, seems to activate the QWERTY keyboard every time. This DOES NOT SEEM NORMAL?????
