BACKUP CONTACTS AND SMS FROM THE HTC3450 to the COMPUTER
Hi there...
i have a HTC 3450 i want to back up the data from my mobile to the computer as its become very slow...so i gotta reinstall the OS so i thought of backing up the data...but i don't know which application to use to do it...
i want my contacts and my sms's to be copied onto the computer so that i can copy it back to the mobile later...i know an application which is the i mobile sms backup but its not a freeware i have to buy it so if anyone is aware of any other alternate application which allows such thing then please let me know...

another way to backup contacts
As we know editing/adding new entries on PC is easier than that through TouchScreen.I want to dump "myContacts" on my PC/Laptop where I can read and and edit my Contacts and reload them, I tried but failed by using Sprite Software.
Some articles I read that "godswmobile contact transfer" including an app which allow us to edit/add contact on our PC. I have tried this software for a while.And it gave me a lot of convenience!

Problem in HTC P3400i after installing XDA-Team_Manilla2D.CAB
Dear Friends
Can any one have solution to this problem. As i am using HTC P3400i, and before installing XDA-Team_Manilla2D , my phone is working excelent. But after its installation, it become too slow and i really got tired of it. So now i want to reset it , but before that i want to take backup of my Contacts and SMS, so kindly let me know that Sprite Backup is safe or PIM is better as i have taken backup with both the softwares.

Transferring from windows 6 to android device
Hey,
I have just ordered the HTC Hero (or T-Mobile G2), my current phone is a HTC Touch Plus running windows mobile.
I know the contacts and the calender can be transferred prettty painlessly. But i would also like to transfer all my SMS messages and call log. Certainly, i can back it up, but would I be able to restore onto the android machine.
Ideas on a postcard !!!

i have HTC touch.i copied all the windows file in the memory card.
by effect of thes i lose my start menu contents. because of that i cant explore the file explorer to re save the windows files in system.
wat will i do?

Updated ROM - Now I Can't Restore Contacts --HELP
I just did the ROM update today. I backed up my contacts, the pim.vol file, on both my storage card and computer. I can't replace the new pim with the old one from the storage card, and when I do it using my computer, it screws my phone up and cprog.exe and other vital programs won't work and I have to do a hard reset. I know I can get the old contacts back if I had the old ROM, as I've done it before. Then I can use PIMBackup to restore them on the new ROM. Does anyone know of a way to restore the contacts with the update? Or do you know where I could download the old ROM?

Sprite Backup v. Norton Smartphone Security
The version of Sprite Backup furnished with the AT&T Tilt is or has been version 5.1. If you use Norton Smartphone Security then Sprite Backup freezes during a backup and locks up a large portion of system resources requiring a soft reset to restore functionality to the phone. Symantec has not yet responded to this and Sprite Software is looking at this issue. At the request of Sprite Technical Support I downloaded Sprite Backup v.6.2 and it worked without any problems.
Since Sprite Backup v. 5 is installed in ROM, it cannot easily be removed but I confirmed with Sprite that the upgrade to v6.2 will run properly even if v.5 is present.
Since they are in New Zealand, I do not work for or know anyone working for Sprite but I will add that I was amazed with the timeliness and quality of Sprint Technical Support. I am waiting for the upgrade of Windows Mobile to v.6.1 and then will upgrade Sprite Backup and combine this with Terminator which is a lo-jack type program to locate a lost or stolen phone and can even wipe data if needed.

Don't turn on SD Card encryption!
If you are backing up to your SD Card, make sure encryption is turned off. I made the mistake of encrypting my SD Card and when I had to reflash the ROM on my AT&T Tilt phone guess what? The backup on my SD Card was worthless as the file was inaccessable and couldn't be decrypted. Backing up to an SD Card is a great feature, I just wished the Sprite Back Up program had warned me about this issue about never being able to successfully restore if something had happened to my phone or it's ROM.

• Remove the concept of archiving to Digest. Now when you choose archive to Email you have a choice of when to archive (Immediate or Daily).
• Schedule time can now be set per Event Type (SMS Sent, SMS Received and Call Log)
• Call Log events are now sent in the initial digest on installation (Beta 2 only sent SMS Received and SMS Sent).
