Smartphone ROMs
If your device has a link, click on it. If your device does not have a link click on the title (example: HTC A Series). I will only make a separate page for devices with lots of ROMs listed. I have been working on my own

htc rom upgrade
I just received my new htc touch hd (love it), however, I saw where HTC has a rom upgrade for the touch hd which included a few hot fixes. When I went to try downloading the the new rom, a red notice came up stating this was'nt for my unit. I called HTC and was told that my particular unit was from tawain and I'd have to visit that particular site which I did and I am able to download the new rom from that site but its all in the tawain language with just a few bits of spoken english. I had no possible that htc's units come from many different areas. However, I do feel that if theres a rom upgrade, htc should make it possible for everyone that has the particular unit to obtain this upgrade. I ask htc if I downloaded the updated rom from the htc tawain sie would it arrive to my unit in englis or in tawain, they said they are not sure. So I now turn to wetpaint professionals here to tell me if its safe to download this rom from this tawain htc site.

Tmobile/HTC Dash
Ok I used to have a Tmobile dash and sold it , but I missed the phone so I go one off ebay. It was listed in good conditon, what I got was something way different. So I figure I will change the housing etc to make it look good. Before buying a new housing or anything I go to turn it on. The screen flickered and went up to the tmobile logo then the phone froze and will not work now. I think the seller screwed with the ROM and now I want to erase the screwed up ROM and load up a fresh new ROM ( like out of the box new). So my question is can anyone help me ? I need a step by step guide to flashing and installing the OEM rom. I already started a dispute with paypal, but I think if I fix the ROM on the phone I should be good.

Using HTC 8925 "ATT Tilt" in the landscape mode, blank menu drop down
I am using 8925 with WM 6.1 Pro with ROM version 3.57.502.2 WWE and installed the Kiaser Tweek. The problem I am having is that when in landscape mode, the menu button (lower right side of the screen) gives a blank drop down menu. It is active, I can select something and it works, I just cant see it, dashes or very small words bunched together or something. Is there a patch for this or do I have a conflict of software going on?

HTC Mogul display problem
I purchased the Sprint HTC Mogul in April. Last month, the display started to disappearing. First, the display turned blank in half an hour. Then, it turned blank in a few minutes. And finally, it turned blank completely and we couldn't see the display anymore. I can still use ACTIVESync to interface to the phone and can't see the screen. Since it is under warranty, so I sent it to their service center (the one in Hauppauge, NY). When I checked with the service center after two weeks, they said that my phone can't be fixed and they will send it back to us. Even under warranty, they are not willing to repair it or replace it. They said that I should talk with Sprint (my service provider) to see if they would repair it. I really don't believe how unreliable their phone is and the way how they honor their warranty. Questions are: 1) where can I get help to get my phone repair? 2)any place that I can file a complain?

Updated ROM - Now I Can't Restore Contacts --HELP
I just did the ROM update today. I backed up my contacts, the pim.vol file, on both my storage card and computer. I can't replace the new pim with the old one from the storage card, and when I do it using my computer, it screws my phone up and cprog.exe and other vital programs won't work and I have to do a hard reset. I know I can get the old contacts back if I had the old ROM, as I've done it before. Then I can use PIMBackup to restore them on the new ROM. Does anyone know of a way to restore the contacts with the update? Or do you know where I could download the old ROM?

I'm having a problem where any time I use the key "i" or "I"--whether using the slide-out keyboard, the virtual keyboard, or a Bluetooth keyboard--the Wing freezes up completely, requiring a reset.
Any solutions?

How to hard reset HTC AT&T/Cingular 8125 with buttons reprogrammed
<This is a reposting of one that was located in Discussion forum; Sorry that I do not know how to change the location once after a message is posted.>
Hi Expert out there, My Cingular 8125 had a white screen. I learned that a hard reset might resolve this problem. However, both my comm manager button and voice command button may have been reprogrammed (to other functions) because all I got was some colored horizontal lines in red (with text IPL 2.25 & SPL 2.25), green, blue, white, which seemed to indicate that the 8125 was in the boot loader according to the following post.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=10909448
So I would very much appreciate whether any one knows whether there is another way to hard reset the 8125.
Thanks. M

Sprint Touch WM 6.1
Well I got my HTC Touch from Sprint this past Friday. Ofter checking out Buzz About Wireless I read about the WM 6.1 update, I downloaded it and "tried" to install it. Well just put it this way got stuck on bootloader screen and how to take it back. Since today was the true official launch of Sprint Touch WM 6.1 I called my local store and asked if they did software update installs. The lady informed my they were not a repair store and could not do updates.
After thinking about if I wanted to risk another "Bootloader Screen" mess up I decided to try it since I wanted it to be up to date. Perfect install, not errors or nothing! Yay!

Supposedly Official, Final Sprint Touch Rom (WM 6.1/GPS/Rev A) Leaked
Threads abound on message boards with a new leaked Sprint Touch ROM. This is supposedly the final release version of the ROM that contains Windows Mobile 6.1 and enables GPS and Rev A. However, the threads not that some people have some quirks with it. Since the original source, PPC Geeks seems to be down, here is the Sprint Users thread: http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=166460

copy or link to internet sharring ROM routine
Under the Windows folder is the application IntShrUI.exe which enables the HTC-8900 to be used as internet access for my laptop. I can start this routine directly or by the supplied shortcut. I'd like to create a shortcut on the start page or assign it to a launch button the the HTC home plugin. I'm unable to figure out how to accomplish this. The shortcut doesnt work and if I try to copy the application an error is generated stating you cannot copy a ROM routine.

Are Unofficial ROM's Safe?
Hi,
I'm using a Bell Vogue and am very interested in upgrading to an unofficial rom as the bell one seems to be lacking. How safe(re: security) are Roms created by 3rd parties?
Can't 3rd parties install keyloggers and other crap into the ROM without me knowing? Are there any other privacy/security risks?
In addition if I were to upgrade to the latest Radio to EVDO Rev-A will Bell start charging me? I currently have the 7$ unlimited mobile browser.
Thanks.
