  • phone functions- YUK I have HTC Hero -sprint; The screen response is very slow for phone functions. when switching calls or dialing and picking up. It takes 2-5 seconds for the screen to show what happened. I think it does not work and then try redial. Very frustrating.

Looking up numbers to dial is KLUNKY.
And the one thing that would be SO great- Voice Dial. JUST sucks sucks sucks.

Its really fast and im not missing too much the fact that its not a touch screen, but can any current owners tell me how to clean the cookies, temporary internet files and junk that accumulates in the folders? I used to be able to download thrid party apps for my Wing, but I dont know if that will work with the Dash.

  • Problem with Nexus One and HTC Here is the short of it. Sorry for no paragraphs. phone $530 unsibsidized and worked great for the first 10 days. While using the phone while charging the phone just dies. Did battery pull. No luck. Called HTC tech supprt. Had them hold another $530 and arranged swap. The rep sounded new and inexperienced but hard hard could this be. I was told that i would get an email with tracking number and phone would arrive in 2 days. 2 days later, still no tracking number. Called again. Rep tells me there was a mistake. They only sent me the package to return the old phone. No new phone yet. He was going to "escalate" and I should get new tracking number soon. Next day. Still no tracking number so i call again. Rep tells me phone was sent but tracking number was entered incorrectly. I tell him that the sent phone he sees is probably just the return packaging that was corrected the day before. He assures me that it was sent offers to "escalate" and tells me to try calling again the next day for hopefully a correct tracking number. The next day, still no tracking number so i call yet again. In the middle of the call phone gets staticy so the rep gives me his name and number and tells me to call him back. I call back and the new rep tells me taht he cannot transfer the call, that i would have to deal with him. I proceeded to verify and explain for the 5th time my situation. He finally gets my tracking number , say bye and end call. I try entering the tracking number into Fed Ex and it doesn't exist. I call again and the rep tells me that the tracking number i was given was for when i first ordered the phone! She gives me another that does not work. She offers to "escalate" yet again. She tells me that my order was entered in wrong and was set for me to send my phone in first and then they will send a new one. Supposedly i will get it Monday. 6 CALLS! to get a straight answer and still no phone. Never again with HTC.

  • Adding a New Contact from Incoming Call This must be easy to do, but I haven't worked out how to do it yet, and it doesn't appear to be in the manual.

On most (smart)phones, when looking back at call history, you can add a new contact from the list of calls by highlighting the new number, and bringing up a menu which allows you to add a new contact's details.

Can anyone tell me how to do this on the HTC Hero smartphone?

It should be easy, it should be intuitive, but the only option I seem to get is to add the number to an existing contact. Is this the only option (ie do I have to set up the contact's details, and then add the number from the call history), or is there more flexibility (ie add a new contacts details from a menu accessed via the new number in the call history)?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Rod

  • Nexus One vs Hero After looking at the Nexus One I understand why we aren't getting Android 2.0.1 for the Hero!
The Nexus One is a Hero on steroids! Android 2.0.1 steroids that is! The upgrade for Hero will probibally be delayed even more because of HTC and Google playing favorites, Sprint Hero customers got a firmware upgrade that took care of some issues and is promised an Android 2.0.1 upgrade soon. T-Mobile got the Nexus One with Android 2.0.1 . What about the other HTC/Google customers? I have nTelos as a carrier and no upgrades or firmware in the works for Hero. Maybe Ill ditch Hero and go with an Iphone ,and have a $500.00 Hero paper weight!

  • Bluetooth keyboard / mouse for Dash 3G? Would this phone work with a bluetooth keyboard, mouse, or both as a means of controlling the phone?

I see the bluetooth HID protocol listed on phonescoop http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=2062

*but* on phones that can often be a one way thing. That is to say, one would use the phone as a remote control for another bluetooth device that supports such use, like a set top box, media center, etc.

I am hopeful that I can control the Dash 3G with at least an external bluetooth keyboard. A bluetooth mouse would be handy too, if possible.

    Comments?

  • 3G Dash Windows Mobile come with INTERNET SHARING? Hi all,
I currently own the Tmobile Wing, wich comes with the very handy Internet Sharing
from Windows mobile, very handy when you're out in the field with laptop and want to connect to internet (not very fast, but I get to read my emails fine). Does the Dash 3G's Windows Mobile 6.1 come with that same feature? Can anyone that owns one confirm that before i purchase one? Thanks.

  • Integrating Contact Birthdays with Calendar This is more a suggestion, but would love to here if anyone else has the same request. I used to have a Windows Mobile based PDA and one of my favorite features was the integration between the contacts Birthday information and the calendar. I would love to see the same level of integration from the People app to the Calendar app for both manually entered birthdays and facebook downloaded birthdays. Going to the People App and looking in the Events button is too active, having an event on my calendar remind me automatically is much preferred.

Any one else share this opinion?
