I can't connect to my newly installed Belkin N Router. All Laptops have no problem at all connecting. My Touch will connect to my home wireless no problem. I have tried removing all security settings/resetting all devices/ still nothing. Can anybody help? 13  out of 14 found this valuable. Do you?

If you have a Sprint Touch, I don't know how you got it to connect to your home wireless network to begin with as it doesn't have wifi capability. 5  out of 6 found this valuable. Do you?

You do realize that the version in your link is not the USA CDMA version (Sprint Touch) without wi-fi, right? I mean, you must realize that. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

i've been trying to get the wifi on my htc touch (GSM model) to work. alas. it detects my home wireless network (linksys router) in the list of available networks, but refuses to connect (prompts for access key -- i've set up mine as WPA-PSK, with TKIP encryption)! it just returns a prompt first time saying incorrect key, which i enter and subsequently, goes back to the list of available networks. sometimes my home network shows unavailable immediately afterwards. really sucks as wifi is one of the prime reasons i bought this phone. love it otherwise. can anyone help? thanks in advance. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. ok. so i realise HTC Touch ships w/o wifi in some geographies. Asia seems to ship with wifi.
For those who have it and can't register on wifi networks, here's my update.
I FINALLY managed to get the Touch to register on a wifi.
One of you suggested that it had to do with entering the wrong network settings (like network key). But that wasn't it.
I think its something to do with the WiFi module onboard the touch. It makes it extremely difficult to latch on to a WiFi network for the first time. But once it registers the first time, in future whenever the same network is available it catches on in 2 secs.
What did I do? Black magic. trouble is i don't know what made the trick. but i think its one of these:
while reconfiguring my linksys wifi router, I
enabled MAC filtering (add the device MAC to the list)
and if your router has something like a detect mode, where it starts listening for connection requests try that too.
(skip the crappy router config s/w (esp if you're on Linksys) and instead hit the router config home directly http://192.168.2.1 or something like that depending on the way your ISP / Cable modem, etc are configured).

You posted in the Sprint Touch section so one can only say DUH it's not going to work stupid it doesn't have WiFI.

Why don't you post in the right section to start out. Can we have a mode move this post to the correct section.

It's MOD, but you are right people ask silly questions in the wrong sections all the time.

This should be moved to the Touch Dual section I think.

Seriously people post in the right section or google first to find out what's going on.

I have an HTC Touch (ELF) not a Dual from Taiwan. It can connect to most WiFI hot spots, but for some reason won't connect to my home Belkin N router. I have messed around with the router settings, and WiFi settings on my phone, but still no solution. I think that if it's a Belkin router, Belkin may need to release a fix. Do you find this valuable?
