I've been using this phone happily for over two months. 3 days ago it stopped sending text messages. I can still receive messages. I've tried the sim in another phone (Sony-Erricson 800 family) and can send from that phone.

I can still surf the web, get mail (Gmail and Outlook) and do everything else. It's just outgoing text messaging that's broken. I get an "Unable to send your text message" error and an "Error Synchronizing" at the bottom of the text messaging window.

SMS Service Center number is correct. 7 T-Mobile support staff can't help me. HTC support couldn't help either. Soft resets don't make a different. Re-registering with the network, resetting network config and trying other connectivity options for SMS (GPRS, GSM Preferred etc) don't help.

The phone is running WM 6.0. I haven't flashed the ROM. I've installed minimal additional software (Opera Mini, Fring) all months ago. Nothing I'm aware of has changed.

My next step is a hard reset but I'd like to avoid that if possible (unless this is a hardware issue).

I had the same problem for this month as well. I spoke with many T-mobile technical support people, but they were not able to help with my text messaging problem. What happened for my phone (HTC 8925/ ATT Tily) was that sometimes it goes through to the recepient, while at other times it just had a long delay to send the message and ended up in my outbox or draft.
I dont know what to do about it. Any suggestion please? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I've had no luck yet. I want to try another T-Mobile sim card first and if that doesn't work I'm going to try a hard reset. If that doesn't work then I guess the phone goes to HTC for repair?

For what it's worth none of my sms messages ever 'escape' the outbox. Every single one fails. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I just tried another T-Mobile sim and same deal: I can't send sms messages using that sim either.

So next up is a hard reset. I'll do that on the weekend I think and report back here either way. Do you find this valuable?

I started having the same problem around the same time!!! I hard-reseted my HTC Tytn II and even reflashed the same ROM over - this didn't help.
Replacing SIM card doesn't seem to help neither. However, text messages seem to go through only when there is an active call in the background.
I know T-Mobile was having some issues today (8/20), since I had to call them several times because my new SIM card was not provisioning. I was told that it should take no more than 2 hrs, but after 6 hours I was not able to receive calls, access T-Mobile web, etc.... Just recently everything (except for outgoing text messages) started working. Do you find this valuable?

when I made a phone call yesterday, all the messages that were in the outbox started to send themselves succesfully. today, I could send messages witout no problems at all, but at times the same problem resurfaces again and again.
The technical support person from Tmobile said that certain areas in washington (such as bellevue) were having impaired networking. Do you find this valuable?

Just got off the phone with customer service. They say this is a known issue and they are already looking into it. No expected resolution time though.
Looks like it is isolated to Windows Mobile phones only. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

That's interesting. Still unable to send messages at the moment, even if they're queued and I make a call.

But I'll phone and bug T-Mobile support again and see if I can get any further. I'll hold off on a hard reset for the moment. Do you find this valuable?

I just posted a few min ago. I think i solved it... Try turning off your 3g! it worked for me.. i think.. Do you find this valuable?

Clarify what you mean by "turning off your 3g". There are a number of things that could mean and it would be nice to know I'm testing exactly what you did.

Did you disconnect from the network, turn off HSDPA, etc. Where did you find/change the setting you're referring to. Post and I'll give it a try.

Right, I've tried disabling 3G in every way I can conceive of without any change. Do you find this valuable?

I actually have the same issue, right after I hard reset my TYTN I can only receive MMS but unable to send!!! and T-Mobile Tech support could not help...they gave my the same setting I usually use to set up my MMS account, if you have any luck please help and I will do the same.... Do you find this valuable?

Just spoke to T-Mobile support again. No joy, but I just wanted to let them know more than just one person was experiencing this. They said I need to try a hard reset before they can open a ticket with their engineering team, so I guess that's what I'll be doing this evening.

The funny thing is I can use my SMS just fine, but the MMS only receive !! well try the hard rest and let us know? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I wrote about the 3g turning off. I've tested it all last nite for about 200 text all night, all went through.
To disable the 3g - i downloaded "comm manager" and then on the bottom the "3g - change to auto mode" - turn it to "off"

Thanks. I've just installed comm manager, but it's already set to auto. Playing around with those settings didn't change anything for me. I'm going to try a hard reset this weekend. Do you find this valuable?
