My G1 Won't Turn On!

I accepted a system update this morning, and when the phone was resetting itself it froze on the screen with the Android logo. I've tried taking the battery out, leaving it for a while and then replacing it and turning it on again, but the same thing just keeps happening. I don't know what to do! Do you find this valuable?

The next step is to try a hard reset as described on this page:

A hard reset could clear the last update on the device but if not you might want to vist www.android.com to see if they have any updates for the device or even www,tmobile.com if the hard reset does not work. Do you find this valuable?

I tried the hard reset, but even that didn't work. My phone said there was an error and wouldn't let me, and when I restarted it, the same freezing thing happened again.
