Passwording your phone is worthless if someone can easily bypass it. Therefore the only way someone ( or you ) can bypass your passwod is to hard reset. This will of course erase all the data on the phone thereby rendering any info useless to the thief. I don't password my phone and never have. It has always been my opinion that you only need to password your phone if you are carrying your countries nuclear secrets or cheating on your spouse.
