signature capture

Am I supposed to be able to sign my name on the screen of this phone, or does it need additional software to have this capability. For my business, I need to be able to complete applications, including signatures on my phone. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

You will need a 3rd party app to do this. Windows Mobile does have a Transcriber option that allows you to write on the screen with the stylus but then converts what you have writtent to text.

Be very careful about putting a graphic of your signature out into cyberspace without encryption or some other way to be sure it won't be hacked and used for idenity theft.

As another user wrote "You will need a 3rd party app to do this"

Are you looking for a standard application or a solution to add signature within a web based application? We offer web based signature capture on Windows Mobile phone.
This allows you to have a signature box within the web form, sign it, and have the signature sent to your web server along with other information.
Details at
www.btis.com/btProducts/WebSignature/WebSignature.htm
Try it out on your phone at
www.btis.com/btProducts/WebSignature/WebSignature.htm
Note - we are aware of a problem on some very recent versions of Windows Mobile ( instead of signing the screen is scrolled), and hope to have a new edition to address this by the end of year.
I'd be happy to discuss further.

Jeff - The scrolling vs. capture problem you describe with the signature control is exactly the issue that has been causing me headaches for the last couple of weeks. I have been test driving 3 new phones to see how our web pages react, and this is probably the biggest issue. Do you have any more info on when this would be resolved or at least available for testing? Thanks in advance.

We hope to have this available before the end of the year.
Please post as a support question to our web site at
http://www.btis.com/scripts/ttcgi.exe?command=SoloSubmitScreen&databaseid=2
This way we can better track this issue directly for you, and make sure to let you know when the new edition is available. It will be helpful if you can include the model numbers and version of Windows Mobile, for phones you have tested and results for each.

Please reference this forum message

with your post to our support page - it will also help to remind us to come back
here when this is available.

Check out Formotus for a 3rd party signature capture solution using touch screen phones. Capture signatures, diagrams, photos, GPS coordinates, timestamps and more in InfoPath-compatible forms that submit over the air to SharePoint or Web services. All custom, no coding required.

Found the formotus solution interesting. Do you also know how does it integrate with backend systems other than the MSsharepoint or cloud recommended therein. And who do we get in touch with for the pricing information of their products
