How to change 'Camera' button on Touch Flo3D Home Screen
Jan 3 2010, 11:58 PM EST | Post edited: Jan 4 2010, 3:22 PM EST
I hope I'm not the only one experiencing this annoyance, but has anyone located the setting or method on changing the 'Camera' button on the home screen? I'd really like to change it to something else.

I accidentally tap that button ALL THE TIME (at least 3-5 times daily) and it is really getting on my nerves. Plus, there's already a camera/recorder tab we use to activate the camera.

Can someone help? This is getting really really annoying....

Thanks.

I belive this would require a registry hack to change the application to something else or another UI like mobile shell.Not sure the path for the hack tho. you might wanna look on xda for registry hack info. Do you find this valuable?

I've done a small bit of looking around and have not yet seen anything. I may call HTC for their input on this and pray that they have a way to change the button to shortcut to something else. XDA will be the next place I poke around.

Pushing that button accidentally and having to take the time to let the camera app load and let me exit is a regular and annoying occurrence for me. I really want to change it.

no actually you can quite easily. for the TF2 Hit start/ settings/ customize tabs/ click the ones you want to remove and or change the order, hit done.

My biggest issue is the fact you cant add "Contacts" to the home page or anything else. Geez HTC you think I'd want to look at my contacts directly for any particular reason. Big miss folks. The only way I've figured to get there the quickest is to hit favs, then all contacts, then search. That's 2 extra keystrokes.... ARRRRGGHHHH.

You can do it with the following registry change :

To Modify left/right home softkeys in Manilla (Touch Flow 3D) you can edit the Registry as follows.

DEFAULT: All Fields Blank.

HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila

The Left key keys are as follows (I've setup to Opera):
HomeLSKText = Web
HomeLSKPath = \windows\Opera Browser.lnk

(I've left my right key default for the moment - i.e. blank which will default to camera.)

The right key registry keys are as follows:
HomeRSKText
HomeRSKPath

After you have finished do a Soft Reset -

I believe you can also change them using Advanced Config
