BACKUP CONTACTS AND SMS FROM THE HTC3450 to the COMPUTER

Hi there...i have a HTC 3450 i want to back up the data from my mobile to the computer as its become very slow...so i gotta reinstall the OS so i thought of backing up the data...but i don't know which application to use to do it... i want my contacts and my sms's to be copied onto the computer so that i can copy it back to the mobile later...i know an application which is the i mobile sms backup but its not a freeware i have to buy it so if anyone is aware of any other alternate application which allows such thing then please let me know... Awaiting for reply 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"Hi there...You can backup your Contacts and Calendar to your PC using ActiveSync (for Windows XP) or WMDC (for Vista & W7), by doing a sync. Unfortunately, sync will not backup your SMS. You can use one of the WM backup programs like Sprite Backup or Spb Backup to backup your entire device to your SD card. Sprite comes as part of the OS on many devices. If you have it on your phone, use Sprite. If not, I recommend Spb Backup. It will be the best $20 you ever spent. Check it out on: www.spbsoftwarehouse.com I have used it for years, and never lost a single bit of data. I keep an extra SD card backed up and stored in my office in case my phone is lost or stolen, I can get a new phone and reload my data from the SD card - it's a great "insurance policy".
