SMS/MMS download off phone

Has anyone found a way to download the SMS/MMS (text messages) off the Dash? T-Mo tech support was no help at all. I could possibly pull them off if they were on the SIM, but believe the messages are stored on the local phone memory. My old nokia had software to strip the messages off for "backup". Any thoughts??? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I used PIM Backup from http://www.dotfred.net/ and that backed up and restored my messages perfectly for me.

Looks like a great back-up resource. THANKS! My problem is that I need to back up everything and my Dash's screen is dead. The dotfred.net program needs to be launched on the phone not on my PC so I am stuck. Anyone have any other suggestions?

If your phone is truely dead, unfortunately al we can tell you at this point is what you" should " have done as far as backing up. If it responds to ActiveSsync you can extract the pim file, if not and you cannot get the phone to respond in any way, all is lost. Any back ups on the SD card?

denco7 - Thanks for your help! Fortunately the phone is still working to some extent, but the screen is completely blank. I was able to hook into ActiveSync and get most of the stuff off of it. I'm just not able to pull the SMS messages I had in my inbox off of it. Not a huge deal but would make life easier if I could get the file off the Dash before I get a new one. I am using my old MDA (T-Mobile) for now so I can get by. Do you find this valuable?

I have the same problem. I have searched for a couple of hours and finally found a software that cost $10 and will do the trick. Download here: http://www.senstic.com/products/WMDataViewer/WMDataViewer.aspx Do you find this valuable?

I just bought the SENSTIC program above (Windows Mobile Data Viewer)... It downloaded all the texts (SMS), but the picturemails are just listed as "no subject". Obviously it only downloads texts and NOT pictures.
Anyone know how to download my picturemails off my Dash (when my Menu key is broken)???
